ABOUT OUR LOCATION
The five star resort for our retreat was created with the love and passion of two well-travelled Australians who split their time between Perth and Ubud.
They know what you want when you are away from home.
The resort is architecturally impressive with both Javanese and Balinese elements and provides all the comfort and luxury that you want.
Gorgeous bathrooms, spacious bedrooms, an infinity pool, an eco open air yoga pavilion, beautiful spa treatment rooms and organic kitchen gardens set in a lush tropical landscape.
Nestled beside the Petanu River one of the island’s sacred waterways and surrounded by rice terraces, immersed in nature but only minutes from the centre of Ubud if you wish to explore the market, shops and cafes there.
The magical location of our retreat creates space for special experiences, on and off the yoga mat.
Cooling valley breezes will welcome us back from our off-site cultural experiences and soothe us as we enjoy the daily yoga and meditation sessions.
Imagine relaxing with the sounds and views of the sacred Petanu River, the nature and the birdlife.
And the early evening sound bathing experience with renowned Agustian Supriatna in the open air yoga pavillion will be just magic.
With three chefs creating delicious and nutritious meals for us, you are going to want to take a piece of Bali home. So one of the cultural experiences you might choose is a cooking class with Ketut Budi at his family’s compound. He is an absolute delight. I am also going to teach you how to make Jamu, an amazing healing turmeric tonic that has been in the Indonesian side of my family for I can’t even imagine how long!
And with all of this, accept the loving, caring, personal service from our local staff as part of the retreat experience, allowing you all the time and space you need to embody the practices and completely relax.
Yoga, massage and spa treatments are part of Balinese life and are skills that have been passed down through the generations. Imagine your day starting with yoga at the beautiful bamboo pavilion and finishing with a complimetary relaxing massage or a herbal body wrap or scrub if you choose to splash out on these, in an exotic Balinese setting.
Of course you’ll have an unlimited supply of spring water and free, unlimited wi-fi internet throughout the property.

The beautiful lush resort location outside Ubud is exclusively ours for the week of the retreat. All rooms have air-conditioning, ceiling fans and private bathrooms and WIFI is available right throughout the resort.
Most of the rooms are modern Balinese design. Two of the villas are traditional Javanese wooden gledugs which have been restored and renovated in a way that suits modern travellers. They are stunning and have beautiful views of the sacred river valley beneath us. There are however some stairs to factor in with these two gledugs. Please advise Annebelle upon booking if you would like to book a gledug and she will try to facilitate that.

Beginners are very welcome and actually as we are diving into yoga philosophy on this retreat where the focus is energetic balance, newbies will come away with a deeper understanding about what is important in yoga classes upon arrival home. It’s not all about the movement. Yoga is so much more.
Annebelle teaches in a way that is invitational, and always asks her students to move and breathe in the ways that feel right for them. Yoga is a very personal experience and the more we can accommodate how we are feeling in the moment, the richer the practice.
-
Absolulely! Non-yogis are very welcome and may even feel like joining us for the very relaxing and restorative yoga nidra meditations in the evenings. And non-yogis can join us on the excursions too if they wish. Who knows…maybe even a yoga class! Or your partner can just relax in paradise and soak up all the magic of Bali’s beautiful heart, Ubud.
